Bachmann Cove
Bachmann Cove
A highlight of the beautiful and inspiring official Bachmann HO-scale layout. In my view, this miniature railway offers both a great visual spectacle and a truly enjoyable operating experience.
The track plan is reportedly inspired by the famous "Buzzard's Cove"—a true classic in the world of American model railroading.
This layout appears in many of the brand’s videos, which showcase their rolling stock and starter sets. You can see it for yourself by watching the Bachmann videos I’ve featured on my blog.
Why do I like this layout so much?
A vibrant setting: The theme depicts a small coastal bay (or "cove") complete with docks, rocky outcrops, bridges, and port facilities.
A comprehensive track plan: It combines a main loop—perfect for continuous running—with a switching area (featuring a central crossing) for shunting and sorting railcars.
